Cove Point Cottages

These beautiful cottages, with cozy Northwood’s furnishings, are perfect for families and small group privacy. Each has a full kitchen, fireplace in living room, decks to enjoy the lake air and most have Jacuzzis. Some cottages are placed near the lodge, others are set in the birch and pines with a separate indoor pool and sauna building. Cottages are grouped in small clusters around the 150 acre preserve Our cottages are very cozy and have amazing lake views Cottages have full kitchens and fireplaces Some rooms have fireplaces.

Cottages at Cove Point Lodge are deluxe with two bedrooms, two baths, Jacuzzi, fireplace, deck, and a kitchen complete with appliances and cookware. Each unit has extensive ceramic, wood and carpeted floors along with cozy and comfortable furnishings. Each cottage has wood trim throughout.

The cottages are designed to accommodate a maximum of four people. All cottages are housekeeping (all linens and kitchen utensils are provided) No daily linen or cleaning service is provided.

Breakfast at the main lodge is NOT included in the rates quoted. All Cottages are no smoking and no pets are allowed.

Cottage Styles

Cove Side Cottages
This group of four cottages is nestled in the woods adjacent to the main lodge. The cottages are located in the cove and they have a wonderful view of the lake. These cottages are closest to the main lodge yet they have a private and comfortable sense of isolation.

Ridgeline Lake View Cottages
These cottages are deluxe, one of a kind properties and are a mere three-minute walk from the main lodge. These cottages sit on a ridge overlooking Lake Superior and feature a large covered deck that provides for outstanding views of the lake, cove and Apostle Islands in the distance.

Blacklock Sanctuary Cottage
This cottage is located just 3 miles from the Lodge next to Historic Split Rock State Park. This 1 bedroom, 1 bath, loft, kitchen and fireplace cottage is very secluded. An extremely private setting on Lake Superior.

WindSong Cottages
These cottages are located just to the North of the main lodge-about a five-minute walk. WindSong Cottages have their own play areas, direct access to the bike trail, walking paths and expansive views of the lake.

Every guest at Cove Point has an idea of what they’d like to have when they decide to stay with us. When selecting accommodations, some guests are looking for complete privacy while others are looking for the most expansive Lakeview possible. Our guests want to know what to expect before they arrive and we want to meet the expectations of our guests.

To assist you, we have developed a tool that will help fulfill what you are looking for in terms of a North Shore experience. You already have access to the cottage floor plans and photos but there are other factors that are important so we created a rating system to give you even more information; a set of ratings for each cottage based on factors outside of the cottage itself. Our new rating system is designed to give you a feel for the location and surroundings of the cottage you are interested in.

We have learned that our guests are most interested in the following categories; lake view, lake access, proximity to the lodge and privacy.

If you decide to book on line, you will see the specific ratings by category for each cottage available to you on the dates you are trying to book. The following chart defines each category and you can see what it takes to achieve a certain rating.

A common question might be: Why don’t you rate the lodge rooms as well? The easy answer is that all rooms at the lodge have a Lake Superior view and they all share the same amount of privacy and proximity to lodge amenities. The cottages, however, are all different and therefore the specific rating system makes a lot of sense.

All rates are quoted double occupancy for lodge and quad occupancy for cottages
$12.00 for each additional person per day
Only 1 discount plan/special package applies per visit
Major credit cards are accepted
One night deposit required
14 days advance notice on all cancellations
Check in is 4:00 PM and Check out is 11:00 AM
Breakfast is included for main lodge guests only
- Breakfast is not included for Cottage guests
- Breakfast tokens for cottage guests can be purchased for $6.00 per person at the front desk
If a guest elects to violate our no smoking policy and/or no pets policy in rooms or cottages a MINIMUM $100 fee per day will be added to the guest bill for cleaning and supplies.
Holidays: The following holidays will be charged at peak weekend rates and a minimum stay is required:
