Currently a lake facing and paved bike trail is open from Beaver Bay to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. This trail is six miles long and is considered an intermediate trail. Once in the state park, bikers can access park trails and visit the lighthouse. Visit Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for more information about the park. Cove Point Lodge property is located directly on the trail.
Logging Trail Roads
Hundreds of miles of old, abandoned, or little used wilderness trails are available for bike riding in the Superior National Forest. These trails are located within a 30 minute drive from the lodge. The trails are informal, not paved, and meander throughout the Superior National forest area.

Bikes can be rented in Beaver Bay at the Mobil Gas Station. The station is located about 1/4 of a mile from the lodge.
To Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls.
This new, paved trail is open from Beaver Bay to Split Rock and then on to Gooseberry Falls. The trail is accessed directly from Cove Point Lodge. From the lodge to the lighthouse, it is about a six mile ride, from the lighthouse to the Split Rock river it is another two miles. Crossing the Split Rock river bike bridge allows the rider to continue on to Gooseberry Falls which is another eight miles. This entire trail is located lakeside and it is considered an intermediate trail. Once inside the two parks, bikers can access all of the services of the park.
